So much fun!! This cake was so tall and narrow, I had to try some new construction techniques. It ended up being around 2 ft high. It is a chocolate cake with caramel filling, and vanilla cake with vanilla filling. The light in the top turns on, so it is a "working" lighthouse. Hope it was a great birthday!!!

My biggest order so far...400 servings in sheetcakes and a 4 tier wedding cake. This cake is decorated in buttercream with gumpaste flowers and accents. The tractor is also out of gumpaste. I have been waiting to try this technique with a wedding cake. I love the texture! The reception was beautiful. Just like the bride! Congrats Scott and Valerie!

Made for a true cowgirl! She is the most real cowgirl I have ever met! This is a cake replica of her saddle. I put a Diet Pepsi in the saddle bag on one side because she is hardly ever without one! :) (I love me a cold diet Pepsi too!) The cake is chocolate with chocolate mousse filling. The saddle is covered with modeling chocolate and the hay bale with fondant.

The other saddle bag has a book, representing her years teaching.

This birthday cake was made for a man who got federal jury duty for six months. His wife thought it would be fun to make his birthday cake a "jury duty" themed cake. The cake is vanilla with chocolate ganache filling. It is frosted in a chocolate fudge frosting and covered in fondant, that is painted to look like wood. The gavel and ballots are fondant as well. 50th Anniversary

This cake is made for a 50th wedding anniversary. This style of cake is totally different from what I am used to making. A new challenge!! :) It is a smaller version of their original wedding cake. I did my best to duplicate it. It was tricky in parts because the original photo doesn't show the details very well. The bells are fondant and the cake is decorated and frosted in butter cream frosting. It is a vanilla cake with vanilla filling. I got too busy decorating and forgot to take a picture! He planned to take his girlfriend out to eat someplace nice, and when they ordered dessert, the waitress brought this cake out...and he got on one knee and asked her if she would marry him. She teared up and said YES!! Sounded so cute! I guess another restaurant patron said "What did she say?" the future groom told them it was a yes, they applauded...So Sweet!! Another pretty damask pattern! This cake was HUGE with the bottom tier 16 in. by 6 in. high! It was hard to move to get a good picture because of how heavy it was (and I forgot to take pics at the reception). It is decorated with fondant and stenciled with royal icing. This cake was for a young man who was graduating from high school. It is made after his awesome 1971 Ford Mustang...he also took flying lessons, so that is represented by a chocolate airplane "flying" above the car. It is a marbled cake with raspberry filling, and is decorated in fondant and modeling chocolate.

This was a challenge for me. This car was the Biggest car I've ever done (more than double my usual car), making it more difficult to carve proportionately, and to decorate...I was happy with the end result, but was working on it right up to the deadline...Also because of it's size I wasn't able to get a good picture (I have a small workspace), so I wanted to thank Denise for sending me some pictures!!

This cake is for a girl turning 8. She loves bunnies and pink (which the patches actually are, they look more purple in the photo). It is chocolate cake with strawberry and vanilla mousse fillings. It is decorated in fondant. Carved cakes are especially fun because you never know quite how they will end up until you are done...It was fun to try a bunny. I went with a stuffed animal bunny. I always worry when making animal cakes about the awkward moment when you have to cut the thing in pieces. I figure it wouldn't be as weird with a stuffed animal.

I have to tell you that I am having a tough time finding a good spot to photograph my cakes since we moved. So, sorry for the weird lighting on some of them. I like to use natural light, but don't have windows facing the right direction that will work. I'll get it figured out though. :)

This is a cake I made for a ribbon cutting for the new school Justin is teaching at. The mascot is the grizzly bear, and the colors are brown and gold.
