Rhett

This cake is for a girl turning 8. She loves bunnies and pink (which the patches actually are, they look more purple in the photo).  It is chocolate cake with strawberry and vanilla mousse fillings. It is decorated in fondant. Carved cakes are especially fun because you never know quite how they will end up until you are done...It was fun to try a bunny. I went with a stuffed animal bunny. I always worry when making animal cakes about the awkward moment when you have to cut the thing in pieces. I figure it wouldn't be as weird with a stuffed animal.

I have to tell you that I am having a tough time finding a good spot to photograph my cakes since we moved. So, sorry for the weird lighting on some of them. I like to use natural light, but don't have windows facing the right direction that will work. I'll get it figured out though. :)

Jeanette

I love making cakes! It is so fun to get to be a part of people's important events in some little way. I also like how it makes me feel like I know a stranger a little better. For instance, I don't know Jeanette, but she is an avid shopper who just turned 50. She sounds like a fun person. Her friends and co-workers ordered this cake for her and were pretty nice about the small amount of black on it :). I was told that lime green is the perfect color for her (one of my favorites)...she has to be fun, right!? This cake is chocolate with chocolate mousse. It is decorated in fondant.  I hope it was a great day!

Bobi's Baby Party

Love this girl!! She is having her 4th boy and we HAD to throw her a party. The little goodies are cake balls (a mixture of cake and frosting, or caramel, or something that holds it together and dipped in candy-YUM!) The flavors are chocolate caramel, smores, and vanilla with rainbow chip. It was a blast and so good to see her again! Congrats Bobi!

Brandy

This was another fun cake to make. I loved the brides bright colors, and the topper she found is so cute! The top tier is red velvet cake with cream cheese filling and the bottom is chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. I hope it was a perfect day!

For My Husband...

This is the cake I made for my husband's 33rd birthday. I was trying to use up some fondant I had and so I used the colors I thought would work best...he thought it looked a little "girly" so I added the football on top. :)  Oh, and he said I couldn't put Justin for the title of this post...he "didn't want anyone calling me and asking for 'the Justin' ". What a funny guy!  It is a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and vanilla mousse. Happy birthday Honey!! I love you!
