This spooky cake serves 24 party sized pieces. It is a chocolate cake with a chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream icing. The grass is piped on with a vanilla buttercream. The hand is modeling chocolate that is mummified with gum paste. The tombstone is rice-crispy treat covered in fondant.
I thought it turned out spooky, but not too over-the-edge. With Halloween cakes, you have to find a balance. It can't be TOO gross, because you want someone to eat it! Ü
The cake looked awesome and was so yummy! I wanted more but my first piece was ginormous so I didn't go in for a second! Delish!
